The Towers Fell

Today is the day we remember. . .

Towers falling, planes crashing, people jumping, heroes made and lost.

We remember the thousands of lives lost. . . each one had a life song. . .

Images of chaos, blood, smoke, dust, and ash fill our minds.

Reminders.

But do we really remember?

Do we walk around different on September 12, 2012 because of what we remember on September 11, 2012?

Do we honor those lives lost by appreciating airport security instead of complaining about it?

Do we remember we are one nation of many that works together for the common goal instead of a deeply divided nation over policies and bills?

Do we honor the brave heroes who survived the horrors of 9-11-01 by caring for our fellow Americans who are hungry, lost, or need shelter?

We cannot afford to forget the truth that our country is united though we are diverse. United not only because there are enemies who want our country to fail, but united because we are the United States of America. We are not a perfect country, but we are a country seeking to do what is right.

How are you going to remember today?
