Never-Ever…But God

|

I was never going to marry a doctor, but God.

He was never going to marry a nurse, but God.

I could not see how that marriage was going to make it, but God.

I did not see how God was going to use my writing, but God.

but God…You know the creator of heaven and earth? The God who planned to send His Son to earth to die for us before the foundation of the world was laid. That God…Ephesians 3:20 tells us,

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to His power that is at work within us

God can do more than we ask, and we ask a lot. But more than that God can do more than we imagine and I imagine even more than I ask often. Not only can He do more, but immeasurably more. As one versions says “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.” He can do more.

Not only can He do more, but He does it according the His own power that is working where? In us. Yes, God’s power that is able to do so much more is already working in us.

That means there are no never-evers. God is able. He may not do it the way we think He should, but He is able and we can trust Him who is able.

Father God, help us to lay our never-evers down in light of Your abilities. Help us to trust in You knowing You are able and that You have a wonderful plan for our lives. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
