Angela Hi. I am Angela Mackey. I am a stumbling woman in need of God’s scandalous grace. Through faith in Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross I bear the name Christian. I speak and write to make much of this God, His only Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit who lives in me. I graduated college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and am a Registered Nurse. I also obtained my Masters of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies through Knox Theological Seminary.

filchingly Along the way I met my husband. He is a doctor. I was not going to marry a doctor and he was not going to marry a nurse, but God likes to change our minds. We have three children – two came to us through IVF (in-vitro fertilization). If you want to know more about our journey with infertility and IVF as Christians click here. I periodically write for Encouragement Cafe and have written for The M.O.M. Initiative. I have guest posts on (in)courage and have published articles in Stepping Stones Newsletter (Bethany Christian Services Infertility Ministry).

I am passionate about God’s word. I long to encourage women to rethink their thinking in light of God’s word so they can live transformed lives. I love memorizing God’s word, but still haven’t found a pattern to keep me doing it. I can sew, but don’t like cutting out patterns. I enjoy cooking and good food, but don’t like cleaning my kitchen. I admire organized folks, but struggle to keep my house and life running smoothly. I adore college basketball especially the Kansas Jayhawks (Rock Chalk)! I am a football fan and I enjoy baseball too. (Go Royals!)

Thanks for stopping by. If you want to connect further visit me on Facebook or Twitter. I hope to connect with you soon.

  1. Thanks for this post. I for a fact agree with what you are saying. I have been talking about this subject a lot lately with my father so more than likely this will get him to see my point of view. Fingers crossed!

Hi Angela, I followed you here from your comment that you left at Encouragement Cafe.  I absolutely LOVE your blog.  I love your title and your subtitle describes life so beautifully.  I saw your post about the CALL group that came to your church. My husband and I support and work closely with Vision Trust International -they put James 1:27 into practice.  You can read more about them at  Good luck at She Speaks with your book proposal. I will keep you in my prayers that it goes well.   Thank you so much for visiting the Cafe and we hope you will visit often.  May God continue to bless you richly as you bless others through your service to Him. A fellow sister in Christ, Kathy
